As Captain Barbosa says in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest… they’re more like guidelines. This is a group project, but we’re all adults. We are here to encourage each other, but it is also a personal challenge. Some of these “rules” may or may not be followed, but they are what we’re aiming for. Whether or not everyone participates completely is up to them.
1. Each one of us is to complete 3 movies by the end of December 2010. Complete, in this instance, means an edited final product ready for showing.
2. The movies are to be live-action, however, that is the only stipulation on style and content. Each movie can be as long or as short as desired, though the purpose of this project is to challenge ourselves, so minute-long movies shouldn’t be cropping up here.
3. Once a project is officially announced by one of us, it can’t be rescinded or changed.
4. Barring any extreme life events, each one of us must make at least one blog entry a week to chronicle our creative process until our 3 movies are completed.
5. Danny will post on Mondays, Mark on Wednesdays, and Nick on Fridays. These are requirements for the sake of accountability, not restrictions. Each of us may post as often is necessary.
6. Honesty and encouragement are the cornerstones of this project. When one of us is struggling through a script or in forming an idea, it is our duty to let the others know. Since our weekly posts are mandatory, we may wait until that point to attempt fixing the problem by ourselves, or we may post an entry immediately concerning our issue.
7. We’re going to have fun and get these done… come hell or high water!
